As the wave of post war Italian immigrants arrived they brought with them their food culture. Elizabeth David had been published, we were soon enjoying the excitement of Mediterranean Cooking with trips to local Trattorias and gelato (ice cream) parlours without the actual cooking.
This great vintage piece is more Holly Golightly enjoying Breakfast at Tiffany’s, tucked in your apron rather than cleaning spills.
