Arne Jacobsen created his futuristic and minimalist cutlery in 1957, the cutlery made its public debut at the Milan Triennial and was originally designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.The cutlery became famous from its appearance in the 1968 movie "2001: A Space Odyssey" by Stanley Kubrick

Arne Jacobsen came to International prominence in the early sixties when he designed and created St Catherine’s College, Oxford. Inside and out, from buildings, lighting, his now world-renowned chairs, beautiful gardens and even the cutlery. This was Arne Jacobsen’s vision of “total design”
